Clothing is important as it tells us a lot about a person/ character. Costumes set the tone for the piece (show the genre), they can set the time, and can reveal characteristics of actors. For example, using bright colours usually reflects eccentric, confident characters, whereas darker colours can show very little, reflecting a secretive potentially shy character.
Props are important too for very similar reasons, they reveal things to the audience about the characters.
The start of my research on clothing and props is done using Pinterest to shows a variety of different possibilities. Some are outfits taken from characters in TV and Film as then we can see what their costumes say about them. We will then decide what we want to be revealed to our audience through the costume and props and create an outfit from this.
